Our final week at the Mary Wood Park House at the Conshohocken Community Center was the perfect way to conclude an amazing three-week summer in Conshohocken! From June 29–July 3, another fantastic group of junior chefs joined us for Prep, Season, Sauté!, where they sharpened their savory cooking skills while celebrating the flavors of summer and the excitement of the Fourth of July.

Throughout the week, campers focused on building confidence through real culinary techniques including knife skills, proper seasoning, sautéing, roasting, kitchen organization, and timing. Every recipe encouraged our junior chefs to think like cooks—learning not just how to follow a recipe, but why ingredients work together and how different techniques can transform simple ingredients into flavorful meals. The holiday week also added a festive touch, inspiring campers to celebrate the season while discovering how food brings people together.

Leading the week was Instructor Spring, alongside Instructional Assistant Rylan, who once again created a positive, welcoming, and encouraging kitchen environment. Their patience and enthusiasm helped every junior chef grow more comfortable trying new techniques, asking questions, and celebrating each accomplishment throughout the week.

This week's menu featured fresh summer flavors and camper favorites:

  • Day 1: Panzanella

  • Day 2: Chicken Tinga Tacos with Rice

  • Day 3: Summer Vegetable Baked Ziti

  • Day 4: Sheet Pan Nachos

  • Day 5: "Fri-YAY!" DIY Pizza Day featuring homemade pizza sauce and personalized creations

One of the greatest joys of our time in Conshohocken was seeing so many familiar faces return to cook with us. Some junior chefs spent all three weeks at this campus, continuing to strengthen their culinary skills while building lasting friendships and confidence in the kitchen. We also had the pleasure of welcoming many new campers into the Create-a-Cook family, and it was wonderful to watch everyone learn from one another, encourage each other, and celebrate their successes together.

As we close the chapter on our Conshohocken campus for Summer 2026, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible memories made over the past three weeks. We extend our sincere thanks to the Conshohocken Community Center for once again welcoming Create-a-Cook to the Mary Wood Park House and providing a wonderful place for our junior chefs to learn and grow.

To every family who trusted us with their young chefs this summer—thank you. Whether your junior chef joined us for one week or all three, it has been a privilege to watch their confidence grow, their culinary skills develop, and their love of cooking flourish. We hope the recipes, techniques, and memories made in our kitchen continue to inspire delicious adventures at home for years to come.

Thank you, Conshohocken, for another unforgettable summer. We can't wait to cook with you again next year!
