The Summer 2026 season is officially underway, and what a fantastic way to begin! Our first stop of the summer brought us back to the beautiful Mary Wood Park House at the Conshohocken Community Center, where an incredible group of junior chefs joined us for an unforgettable week of learning, laughter, and delicious food.

From June 15–19, campers dove headfirst into our Ready, Set, Cook program, where they discovered that cooking is about so much more than following a recipe. Throughout the week, our young chefs built confidence in the kitchen while practicing essential culinary techniques including knife skills, measuring, mixing, sautéing, seasoning, and safe food handling. Every day brought a new culinary adventure, encouraging campers to try new ingredients, work together, and take pride in creating meals completely from scratch.

Leading the kitchen was Instructor Spring, alongside instructional assistant Rylan, who created a fun, encouraging, and supportive environment where every camper had the opportunity to succeed. Whether it was mastering a new skill or celebrating a perfectly finished dish, the week was filled with smiles, teamwork, and plenty of memorable moments.
Our menu took campers on a delicious journey through a variety of cuisines:
Day 1: Fresh Quesadillas served with homemade Pico de Gallo and Mexican Crema
Day 2: Classic Penne Bolognese
Day 3: Vegetable Fried Rice
Day 4: Fluffy Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes
Day 5: Personal Pizzas with Homemade Pizza Sauce

By the end of the week, our junior chefs had not only prepared an impressive collection of recipes but had also gained valuable kitchen confidence that will stay with them long after summer ends. Watching campers become more independent each day—trying new flavors, sharpening their techniques, and encouraging one another—is exactly what Create-a-Cook is all about.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the Conshohocken Community Center for once again welcoming us to the Mary Wood Park House and helping us kick off another incredible summer season.
With two more exciting weeks still to come at our Conshohocken campus, this was just the beginning! We can't wait to welcome another group of junior chefs into the kitchen to continue building culinary skills, creating new recipes, making new friends, and sharing plenty of laughs along the way. If Week One was any indication, Summer 2026 is shaping up to be one of our most memorable seasons yet—and we can't wait to see what the next two weeks have in store!
