Ready, Set, Cook! Opens an Exciting Summer in Limerick Township

Our Summer 2026 season continued with an exciting opening week at our Limerick Township campus! We were thrilled to welcome 14 enthusiastic junior chefs for a week filled with hands-on cooking, creativity, and plenty of delicious discoveries. It was especially wonderful to see several familiar faces returning from last summer, ready to build on the skills they learned and take on new culinary challenges.
From June 22–26, campers joined us for Ready, Set, Cook!, an engaging week designed to introduce junior chefs to the fundamentals of cooking while encouraging confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Throughout the week, campers chopped, sautéed, whisked, measured, and cooked their way through a variety of recipes while practicing real culinary techniques used in professional kitchens. Every day brought new opportunities to explore fresh ingredients, develop kitchen skills, and experience the satisfaction of creating delicious meals completely from scratch.
Leading the kitchen were Chef Kevin and Instructional Assistant Chef Sara, whose enthusiasm, patience, and encouragement helped every junior chef feel confident in the kitchen. Whether campers were mastering knife skills, learning proper cooking techniques, or proudly sharing their finished creations, Chef Kevin and Chef Sara made each day both educational and fun.
Our junior chefs prepared an exciting menu throughout the week:
Day 1: Quesadillas with Homemade Pico de Gallo and Mexican Crema
Day 2: Penne Bolognese
Day 3: Vegetable Fried Rice
Day 4: Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes
Day 5: Personal Pizzas with Homemade Pizza Sauce
One of the highlights of the week was watching our returning campers build upon the confidence they gained last summer while welcoming and encouraging first-time campers. The teamwork, curiosity, and excitement shared throughout the kitchen created an atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable trying new ingredients, learning new techniques, and celebrating each other's accomplishments.
This marks the first of two exciting weeks at our Limerick Township campus, and we couldn't be more excited for what's ahead. We look forward to welcoming another group of junior chefs next week for even more hands-on cooking, new recipes, lasting friendships, and unforgettable summer memories. If our opening week is any indication, Limerick Township is in for another fantastic summer with Create-a-Cook!
