Our Summer 2026 season was in full swing as we opened six exciting weeks of culinary adventures at Central Montco Technical High School! From June 22–25, junior chefs joined us for Taste of Summer, a fun-filled week celebrating fresh seasonal ingredients, hands-on cooking, and the excitement of learning new culinary skills in a professional kitchen.

Throughout the week, campers chopped, sautéed, mixed, baked, and plated their way through a variety of savory and sweet recipes inspired by the flavors of summer. While creating delicious dishes from scratch, our junior chefs strengthened essential kitchen skills including knife safety, proper measuring techniques, sautéing, baking fundamentals, teamwork, and kitchen organization. Every recipe encouraged campers to build confidence, explore new ingredients, and discover just how rewarding it can be to prepare meals with their own hands.
We were especially excited to welcome two new instructors to our Central Montco team this summer. Culinary Arts Instructor Chef Shawn led our savory cooking curriculum while Baking and Pastry Instructor Ava introduced campers to the art of baking through a variety of delicious desserts and breads. Together, they created an engaging learning environment that challenged and inspired our junior chefs each day. Supporting them throughout the week was Camp Counselor Sophia, a former Create-a-Cook junior chef who returned to help inspire the next generation of young cooks. Watching Sophia come full circle—from camper to counselor—was a special milestone for our entire Create-a-Cook family.

One of the unique features of our full-day program at Central Montco is that campers enjoy two complete culinary experiences every day—one focused on savory cooking and another dedicated to baking and pastry arts. This gives junior chefs the opportunity to expand their skills across multiple areas of the kitchen while creating an impressive variety of recipes throughout the week.

The excitement and enthusiasm throughout the week made it clear that Summer 2026 is off to an incredible start at Central Montco. From returning campers to first-time junior chefs, everyone embraced the opportunity to learn new techniques, make new friends, and create delicious dishes they were proud to share.

With this being the first of six exciting weeks at Central Montco Technical High School, we know the best is still to come. We can't wait to welcome more junior chefs into our kitchens over the coming weeks as we continue building culinary skills, creating unforgettable memories, and sharing our passion for cooking with the next generation of chefs.
