Create-a-Cook Launches in Limerick with Junior Chef Academy!

This summer marked an exciting milestone for Create-a-Cook as we launched our newest campus in Limerick—and we kicked things off with a week of flavor, fun, and culinary confidence through our Junior Chef Academy: Ultimate Culinary Challenge!
In this half-day program, junior chefs were guided by Chef Kevin, a Culinary Institute of America graduate and professional chef who brought passion, precision, and plenty of inspiration into the kitchen each day. Campers got hands-on with fresh ingredients and seasonal produce as they learned essential cooking techniques and created a series of delicious, made-from-scratch meals.
Throughout the week, Chef Kevin introduced campers to a wide variety of culinary skills and global flavors. Junior chefs created:
Pico de Gallo, Crema, and Quesadillas – practicing knife skills, seasoning, and balance in this crowd-favorite Mexican trio
Pasta alla Norma with Homemade Marinara Sauce – learning how to sauté eggplant and build a rich, flavorful sauce from scratch
Panzanella – a vibrant Italian bread salad that celebrated summer produce and the power of simple ingredients
Summer Vegetable Risotto – creamy, comforting, and a perfect exercise in patience and precision
Zucchini and Corn Fritters – crispy, golden bites made with seasonal vegetables
Each dish gave junior chefs the chance to practice foundational techniques like chopping, stirring, seasoning, sautéing, and plating—all while boosting their kitchen confidence and curiosity. Campers walked away with not just delicious recipes, but also valuable life skills they’ll carry with them far beyond the camp kitchen.
We’re thrilled with the success of our first week at Limerick, and so proud of all our junior chefs for rising to the challenge. With Chef Kevin leading the way, it’s safe to say our Limerick location is off to a sizzling start!
