Kicking Off Our 3rd Summer at Haverford: Kids Summer Cooking Camp with Summer Sensations Recipes!

We are thrilled to have launched our third summer at our Haverford campus with an incredible week of culinary adventures! Our week included Summer Sensations Recipes that was all about celebrating the vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients that make summer in the kitchen so much fun.

Guided by Chef Lindsay and Instructional Assistant I'jhier, our junior chefs dove into a week of mixing, chopping, grilling, baking, and tasting — all while building confidence, teamwork, and essential kitchen skills.
Throughout the week, the kids created a delicious lineup of recipes that highlighted seasonal ingredients and classic summer favorites. Here’s a taste of what they made:

Savory Creations:
Pico de Gallo & Mexican Crema to top fresh Quesadillas
Summer Vegetable Risotto with garden vegetables
Baked Macaroni & Cheese — a timeless comfort classic
Panzanella, the ultimate summer bread salad
Personal Pizzas with homemade sauce and fresh mozzarella
Baking & Sweet Treats:
Blueberry Oatmeal Cookies with Lemon Glaze — bursting with seasonal berries
Chocolate Snickerdoodles — a fun twist on a favorite
Sour Cream Cookies topped with buttercream
Sour Cream Pound Cake — light, fluffy, and dusted with powdered sugar

It was a week filled with curiosity, laughter, and plenty of delicious bites. We’re so proud of all our junior chefs for trying new things and embracing the adventure of cooking!
